How a man makes the money work at home.

Greetings. This week we as men learned how a man makes the money work at home. We talked about some high-yield money practices for couples. The main thing is to get out of debt. Because in scripture... A borrrower becomes a servant to the lender... Proverbs 22:7

We also went over a winning formula for managing your money at home. MTH-G-S-1/12IE-CA-RMB=DM Mothly take home-give away-what you pay yourself for saving for the future-what you pay to yourselves irregular expenses-Mr/Mrs carefree's monthly allowance we pay out to bless and boundary our mate- are th regular, monthly bill we pay = descetionary money we have leftfor ourselves as a couple.

The men are learning the importantess of them as leaders in their own homes. We also talked about how important communication is in a realtionship. The men are growing each and every week. Are goal is be better Servants of Jesus Christ, and to be better husbands and fathers in our homes. God Bless!

What we are learning as men!!!

Greetings!
The men at the grove and a few other men that don't attend the grove are doing a 16 week study on "Winning at Work and at Home"...

The first session...We talk about a man and his 2 mirrors he looks into. The mirror of his home life and his work...We all learned that we are continuely growing in our maturity level at home and at work. It is helping us to learn to be Godly men in both places. We learned about the Paradox Principle. The point was to live we have to die to ourselves. To live alittle we must die alot!!!

The second session... We talked about what men need to know about women. I think we all learned that we don't know as much as we thought we knew. Also learned the 4 basic needs of a woman are... Sercurity, Conversational Companion, Significance, and Affection. But the most interesting thing the men learned was the scoring system between men and women. As men we think we get more points in a relationship if we do bigger and better things, that is how men see things. Then we learned that most women score things on a 1 point system. Everything counts for 1 point no matter what it is. It goes back to what Pastor Jeff said in his sermon 3 weeks ago " Women are like crock pots". Everthing to a women is important and it help fill their love bank. The men and their wives or girlfriends did a personality test.

The third sesson...We talked about the difference between our personalities. Then we talked about how to engage your woman successfully. A long standing wisdom... " Husbands... live with your wives in an understanding way". ( 1 Peter 3:7 NASB) We learned about the five love languages for women... Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch. The men had to go home and talk with their wives and or girlfriends about what their major love language or languages is.

The fourth session... We talked about what the men discovered about their wives or girlfriends love language. It was quite interesting! The session talked about about staying close to the woman you love. We once again discovered we need to die alittle , to live alot. This is an important message because we talked about conflict in relationships we are in. We went over a little diagram on conflict and how to resolve conflicts. The men learned alot and we all laughed alot, because we all could see ourselves when we have had conflicts in the past. We are learning alot through the Mens Fraternity materials.

Tomorrow night we have a fun night, we are going whirly balling. The men will have loads of fun. This weekend we are going on men's retreat if enough men have signed up. It will be a good time as well, but it will help us grow closer together as men in the church. We need to get to know each other, because men need to lean on each other and the fellowship is very important to our growth.

Things in Lisa and my life are going well. We are learning more about god and growing closer to him together. Of course, we are still busy planning the wedding, and looking forward to that special day. Pray that all are well, continue to seek the Lord and his wisdom. God Bless!
